VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL FOR SUMMER 2016
The time is coming for vacation Bible school at several area churches. Let your children attend one, or all. Remember, churches need volunteers to help with the programs.
DUMC: Cave Quest
Cave Quest: Following Jesus — the Light of the World will be held from 9 a.m. to noon June 6-10 at Destin United Methodist Church, 200 Beach Drive, for children who have completed Pre-K through fifth grades.
Kids participate in small groups, called Cave Crews, and discover practical ways to follow Jesus, the light of the world. Not only will they experience exciting Bible adventures but they’ll also watch for God in everyday life through something called God Sightings. They will discover that God is active in their lives and that His light shines for us to see it daily.
KidVid Cinema shares real stories of real kids who are shining God’s light in everyday life, plus team-building games, cool Bible songs, and tasty treats keep everyone on the move.
Cost is $15/child during pre-registration until May 29 and $20/child during registration. Registration will be available online only at https://www.groupvbspro.com/vbs/ez/destinumc/gpgs/Home.aspx. Call 837-2021 for more information.
Destiny Worship Center: Ocean Commotion
DWC, 122 Poinciana Blvd. in Miramar Beach, will host a free VBS for students entering Kindergarten through sixth grade from 6-8:30 p.m. June 13-17.
Every day, kids are challenged to stand for God in their schools, among their friends, in our culture ... no matter what. During Ocean Commotion, kids will dive deep into the account of Noah and the Flood from the book of Genesis and learn to apply the spiritual lessons from Noah’s life to their own. And, along the way, they’ll uncover earthly lessons from the Flood: how all the animals fit on the Ark, how the Flood covered the whole Earth, and how we can still see the effects of this Flood today. They’ll also learn that the flood legends from around the world are based on the true account in Genesis.

Village Baptist: Submerged
Deep within the mysterious sea, kids at vacation Bible school at Village Baptist, 101 Matthew Blvd. in Destin, will have an adventure like never before from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. June 20-24.
As kids submerge themselves in God’s Word, they will discover that Jesus didn’t just see what’s on the outside of people. He looked deep down on the inside. So grab your goggles, step into your flippers, and dive in to find truth below the surface.
As kids learn to see themselves and others as Jesus sees them, they can realize that everyone needs a Savior, even those who look like they have it all together. A relationship with Jesus Christ changes everything. All you have to do is dive in!
Theme verse: "Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my concerns. See if there is any offensive way in me; lead me in the everlasting way." Psalm 139:23-24 (HCSB)

In Barnyard Roundup, Jesus gathers us together, picks us out, calls us by name, and loves us now and forever, no matter what! Children learn Psalm 23, "The Lord is my shepherd," through memory verses, songs, and activities.
At the “farm-tastic” week at Barnyard Roundup VBS, kids learn Jesus Gathers Us Together, how Jesus cares, provides, leads, forgives, and is our Savior. He gathers us together now and forever, no matter what. Through five biblical events in Jesus’ life, kids learn to step out in faith, confident in Jesus’ love for them.
