Church offers Christmas services in unexpected places

Special to The Sun

Christmas is an exciting time of the year. As well it should be, and was on that very first Christmas. Christmas was also an anxious time. Mary and Joseph had been traveling and were now seeking a place to stay to have the Christ child.

Many people will be traveling and searching for a place to celebrate Christmas this year. It can be an anxious time looking for a church, wondering what to wear, what the service will be like, and who will be there.

The family of Hope Lutheran Church recognizes this and offers worship experiences in unexpected places where you already know what to expect. This year the church is offering Christmas Eve worship experiences at 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on the beach at Ed Walline, 10 a.m. at Shunk Gulley Restaurant and 7 p.m. at their building on U.S. Hwy. 98.

Hope has offered beach worship for 15 years and has been a favorite Easter worship destination with thousands gathering. Being able to have an additional service at Shunk Gulley is an incredible blessing. It is a beautiful venue with a wonderful view of the gulf. Their building on 98 is one that always surprises people when they come up. They can’t believe how big is feels and how beautiful it is.

At all of Hope Lutheran's locations you will experience no judgment, biblical/practical teaching, and great music. No grumpy inn keepers.
