DESTIN — Billy Gray Ministries is among churches raising funds for the Galilean Independent Baptist Church in Panama City, which is recovering from damage that occurred during Hurricane Michael.

BGM has donated $5,000; The Gathering Church donated $2,500; and the First Baptist Church of Destin also has contributed.

"This church was chosen after we had talked with many churches after Hurricane Michael. A multitude of churches were damaged due to the hurricane.  Many did not have insurance, and those that did, it was not adequate to rebuild. Therefore, there will be a void in churches in this area," the Rev. Billy Gray said.

"After joint venturing with First Baptist Destin, we decided this was a church we could support. Although the insurance will not pay to completely restore the church, by doing most of the renovation themselves, with a little help from other believers, it can be a productive church once again," he said.

All proceeds donated will go toward the church's restoration.

Send contributions to BGM, P.O. Box 6202, Miramar Beach, FL 32550.
