Baytowne is back on ice and reopening its skating rink for a return winter engagement for the sixth season.

The 2,500-square-foot Baytowne on Ice rink is located inside the huge white Apex Broadcasting Skating Pavilion tent located inside The Village of Baytowne Wharf on Sandestin property.

Opening day this year was Nov. 1, and the rink will operate through Jan. 31. For only $10, you can enjoy 90 minutes of fun on the ice, plus $2 for skate rentals.

“This is something unique. Typically, Florida is not a place where you’d see this,” said ice rink manager Brendan Doolan. “People like to come here to enjoy the skating and all the shopping, eating and activities at Baytowne.”

Doolan added that skaters will get a wristband before hitting the ice, and that afterward the wristband will be the key to obtaining discounts throughout the Village.

During the month of November take two non-perishable can goods and receive free skate rental and benefit Harvest House of Destin.

During the month of December take an unopened toy to receive a deal of buy-one-get-one-free skating session benefiting Toys for Tots.

And during the month of January on Tuesdays take a friend and get a buy-one-get-one-free 90-minute skating session.

Season passes to the rink for Sandestin residents are $120 and $140 for non-residents.

For a special birthday party event or other private skate party, rent the rink for $250 for one hour or enjoy two hours for only $350.

On Nov. 8 The Village of Baytowne Wharf will salute the locals and military community with a Local and Military Appreciation Day. On this day, ice skating and zip line rides from Baytowne Adventure Zone will be free to all visitors supplying a local or military ID. Discounts and specials offers will also be extended to them from each of the Village merchants, including shops, boutiques, eateries, and dancing spots.

Adventure Zone and Blast Arcade will offer special skating packages this season. Packages offer 90 minutes of Skate 'N Zip for $25, or 90 minutes of Skate 'N Play for $25 and a $15 Blast Arcade Card and Laser Maze, or 90 minutes of Skate, Zip 'N Play for $40 and a $15

Blast Arcade Card and laser maze. These packages can be purchased at the Apex Broadcasting Skating Pavilion.
