Plans are in place for two new eateries in Destin — Scallywag’s Pub and Grub and Yellowhouse.

Situated along Calhoun Avenue, the two restaurants are projects by local engineer and president of Destin Machine Inc., Wayne Lung and a business partner. Lung declined to comment on the project when reached by The Log Tuesday morning, saying he would prefer to have his partner, who was out of town, speak on the project.

Based on the early development order application on file for the minor tier 1 project, the proposed restaurants would be built in two phases, combining a new building and an existing residential home.

Scallywag’s, which will have an outdoor bar and deck, will be a 5,500 square foot restaurant, while the Yellowhouse, which will be a fine dining establishment, will boast 3,817-square feet.

According to the application on file, Scallywag’s and Yellowhouse are on two separate parcels (105 and 109 Calhoun Ave), between Dewey Destin’s and the Bay House and Clement Taylor Park.

Scallywag’s and the Yellowhouse will join Dewey Destin’s as the city’s bayfront eateries.
