Deputies investigating fire in Lowe's plumbing aisle

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is looking into the circumstances surrounding a small fire in the plumbing aisle of the Destin Lowe’s on New Year’s Day.

Deputies were called to the business around 12:15 p.m. after a man left his jacket and shirt on fire inside the store and ran out.

An employee used a fire extinguisher to put out the small blaze.

Deputies found a white substance with the burning jacket.

The individual was wearing a blue ball cap, possibly with the Cookie Monster character on it, khaki pants, and a dark belt.
