Julia and Troy Thomas left their August beach wedding in serious style.

The Middleburg, Va., couple had to wait for the rain to pass, but finally left their Destin wedding reception in a Cinderella-style carriage from Bay Limousine in Dothan, Ala. The bride also arrived to the beach wedding in the carriage.

Wedding planner Tamra Turner, of Sunshine Wedding Company, said Julia's mother, Kathleen Morton, came to Turner with the idea for the carriage. It was the first time Turner planned a wedding that used the carriage.

Sightings of the fairy godmother inspired transportation on Crystal Beach lit up The Destin Log’s Facebook page earlier this month.

"I was so thankful for the (Facebook) post, because we got like 75 new likes on our Facebook page because of it," Turner told The Log. "It was pretty cool, especially after all this nasty rain we've been having."

The base cost for the carriage, including lights and mileage from Dothan to Destin, was about $815. That price includes one hour of service. There is some incentive to get back home before midnight, as additional service time is $100 per hour.

Carriage rates are listed on Bay Limousine's website, BayLimousineService.com, for several area cities, including Destin, Panama City, Pensacola and Tallahassee.
