Baytowne Art Walk
SANDESTIN - Stroll the streets and enjoy live music from local musicians and browse a variety of art from regional artists from 5-10 p.m. Aug. 31-Sept. 1 at The Village of Baytowne Wharf Events Plaza. A variety of different mediums includes folk art, jewelry, frames and fine art.
Labor Day Hometown Festival
Enjoy summer’s grand finale during the Labor Day Hometown Festival from 12-5 p.m. Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 at Bass Pro Shops that includes games and crafts, gift card giveaways and sweepstakes, as well as food sampling (free hot dogs 1-4 p.m. and homemade ice cream from 4-5 p.m.), and outdoor seminars for the whole family. Kids can participate in the metal detector treasure hunt, casting buckets or enjoy the Daisy shooting range and duck pond game.
Other festival activities include “color a duck” crafts from 1-5 p.m. and free face painting throughout the event. Families can also visit the photo area to download a free picture where it looks like
Funky Blues Shack
DESTIN – Entertainment scheduled in August at Funky Blues Shack, 707 Harbor Blvd., includes Funky Saturdays with CatFish Alliance Aug. 31; Shooter Sundays with Slim Fatz; Captain Mondays with Robby Walton; and Tequila Tuesdays with Mellow Possum Band. Other events include Whiskey Wednesdays and Funky Fridays.
DESTIN - American Legion Post 296, 311 Main Street, will host the following events. Pizza and hotdogs are sold from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday-through Friday. Call 837-3818.

Autumn Concert Series
DESTIN – The Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation’s Autumn Concert Series begins at 7 p.m. Sept. 1 with Lava Lamp and hits from the ‘70 at the Dugas Pavilion and expanded Village Green at the Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village on Commons Drive. The Fountain City Players perform Motown, R&B, Pop, Reggae, and Jazz Sept. 5. Bring a lawn chair, wine and picnic or purchase dinner on-site. Water and Coke products available for purchase. NICEVILLE - The Northwest Florida State College Fine & Performing Arts Division presents a classical guitar recital featuring Dr. Kevin Manderville of Montgomery, Ala., at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 4 in the Tyler Recital Hall of the Mattie Kelly Arts Center. SEASIDE - The E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center hosts a fundraiser for area student programs and the preservation of Longleaf pine trees from 5-9 p.m. Sept. 8 at Bud & Alley’s. The event will include a silent auction and a short presentation with animals by the Center’s President, Christy Scally and The Center’s Director, Paul Arthur.
