POLICE BLOTTER: Lawmen say woman gave her mom a whack

A woman was arrested after she whacked her mother with a belt, according to an arrest report.

Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputies responding to a Hickory Street residence learned the two got into an argument, the report didn’t say what it was about, and 25-year-old Michelle Rose Johnson hit her mother on the lower left side of her back with a belt and buckle.

A deputy noted the area was swollen and bleeding.

Johnson denied hitting her mother.

Johnson, who was on probation, was charged with battery and felony probation violation. Her plea date is Oct. 8.
