Boyfriend says girlfriend popped him in face

A 26-year-old woman was arrested after she allegedly punched her boyfriend and scratched his face.

The apparent victim told an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputy his live-in girlfriend punched him in the face while they were in their bedroom. Then, she came up behind him as he was gathering his belongings, reached around and “deeply scratched his face,” the deputy wrote in the arrest report.

They went downstairs, where the battle continued. The deputy noted the man had a bad scratch on his face and a smaller scratch on his nose, and a bloody lip.

A witness said the woman didn’t appear to have been battered. The report didn’t indicate what triggered the argument. She was charged with battery and has an Oct. 15 court date.

FWC responds to rowdy campers

Officer Nichols responded to Henderson Beach State Park in reference to several complaints about occupants staying on a campsite. Officer Nichols made contact with seven individuals and conducted records checks on all, according to a weekly Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission report. Unknowingly to Officer Nichols, one individual provided him with a fictitious last name.

Three of the seven violators were issued trespass warnings and escorted out of the park.

While searching the Datashare program, Officer Nichols discovered a name linked to one of the individuals who had the same first name, date of birth, and mug shots as the male he had encountered earlier. A computer check with the new information revealed that the male has active warrants out of the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office for violation of probation.

Officer Nichols is filing charges for a warrant with the State Attorney’s Office for obstruction by disguised person.
