The Kelly crescendo: Construction on Kelly Plantation's 'last development' dubbed The Brownstones

A new 23-unit development is coming to Destin — The Brownstones at Kelly Plantation.

"This opportunity is extremely exciting for us since it is the last development that will be built inside the gates of Kelly Plantation, one of Destin's premier neighborhoods," said Garrett McNeil, founder and CEO of JGM Development, the project's developers.

These "Florida Brownstones" will be available in three and four bedroom floor plans and range in size from 2,800-square feet to 3,100-square feet. Situated on a 5-acre parcel on the Fred Couples Golf Course, the Brownstones are located within a "park-like" setting.

Future Brownstones residents will have access to all of Kelly Plantation's amenities including the owner's club with fitness center, Olympic size pool and tennis courts, Kelly Plantation Golf Club, multiple parks, miles of walking trails, 24 hour security and more, McNeil said.

The homes, which have a two-car garage, complete with golf cart parking, have both golf and bay views, private fenced-in back yards, balconies, hardwood floors, all-wood custom cabinets, stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. Each unit also features an elevator to move between floors.

Infrastructure is already in place and construction is expected to begin in January. The Brownstones at Kelly Plantation will be built by Destin-based JGM Development, and will be completed by Chi-Mar Construction.

Pre-construction prices currently range from $589,000 to $669,000, but those prices are not expected to last. The project is expected to go vertical by January with a target completion date of summer 2014.
