Slate of fall, winter fun coming to HarborWalk: Blues, Brews & BBQ on tap

Enjoy hot barbecue, cold craft beers, bourbon tastings, a fully stocked and high octane Pinnacle Vodka bloody mary bar, and four hours of live music at the 6th Annual Blues, Brews and BBQ. Tasting armbands are $25 and that lets you eat unlimited barbecue. It also includes six tickets for cold drafts, bourbons or bloody Marys.

As the temperatures drop, the fun heats up at HarborWalk Village, beginning with the annual Blues, Brews & BBQ this weekend and culminating with our very own ball drop for New Years Eve. Here are just some of the events happening at HarborWalk Village this season.

November 2013

Blues, Brews & BBQ — Saturday, Nov. 9: Local restaurants will be firing up the grills for a good time and a good cause at HarborWalk Village. The Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association’s Northwest Florida chapter will host a craft beer and bourbon tasting and creative BBQ competition with all proceeds to benefit the next generation of hospitality professionals. Live entertainment by Season Ammons Band, The Blenders, and The Modern Eldorados.

Cars & Coffee — Sunday, Nov. 10: Join car enthusiasts who will be showcasing their specialty cars throughout HarborWalk Village while enjoying beverages, food, and live and music. The event is sponsored by Porsche of Destin. Proceeds to benefit Wounded Warriors.

ARTwalk on the Harbor— Sunday, Nov. 17: Art event along the Destin Boardwalk from HarborWalk Village to AJ’s featuring local and regional artists and vendors. This event is free to the public and will take place on the third Sunday of every month from 1-4 p.m.

 Santa’s arrival to HarborWalk Village — Friday, Nov. 29: Santa makes his grand entrance to the Destin harbor at this Christmas season kick off! Kids will enjoy free activities and can visit with Santa Claus! The event is free and open to the public. This day and evening is sure to get you into the holiday spirit.

Visit with Santa at HarborWalk Village — Saturday, Nov. 30: It’s time for the children to bring their wish list and visit with Santa Claus. All of Santa’s guests receive a special treat!

December 2013

The Giving Trees — Dec. 7: The harbor will be shining with a wonderland of designer Christmas trees and wreaths. Bid on your favorite trees that will decorate your home for the holidays, with your donation benefiting the Children’s Advocacy Center and Horizons of Okaloosa County. The event is free and open to the public.  

Visit with Santa —Dec. 7-8, 14-15: You can get more face time with St. Nick. All of Santa's guests get a special pre-Christmas treat.

DestinHarbor Boat Parade and Fireworks show — Dec. 15: The Destin Harbor will be dancing with holiday lights and cheer during the 27th Annual Destin Boat Parade. Come enjoy live music, children’s arts and craft and hot chocolate. Visit with Santa Claus from 12-4 p.m.  Boat Parade begins at 6 p.m. Fireworks finale following parade. Rain date Dec. 22.

ARTwalk on the Harbor —Dec. 15: Give the gift of local art this Christmas. Find the perfect present at this event along the Destin Boardwalk from HarborWalk Village to AJ’s featuring local and regional artists and vendors.

New Year’s Eve Celebration — Dec. 31: Dine, drink and dance into the New Year throughout HarborWalk Village. Enjoy live music in the restaurants as well as the HarborWalk Village Main Stage. Fireworks and the Sixth Annual Ball drop descending over the harbor make this celebration Destin’s most exciting place to be on New Year’s Eve.
