12 Nights of Christmas: Baytowne brings out the color of the season

Advertorial Special to The Log
This 12 Nights of Light, a sparkling event, will also be featured during the holiday editions of Wednesday Night Concert Series at 7pm.

Let it glow, let it glow, let it glow at The Village of Baytowne Wharf this holiday season.

Enjoy the 12 Nights of Light, a festive light show in The Village’s Events Plaza set to your favorite holiday music every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday leading up to Christmas at 6, 7 and 8 p.m.

“This is one of our favorite holiday events,” said Baytowne’s Lanier Motes. “It's such fun to stand in the center of the Events Plaza watching the lights dance while singing your favorite Christmas music.”

The playlist encompass a little bit of everything from The Carpenters “Sleigh Ride” to Weezer's version of “We Wish you a Merry Christmas.”

“We spend a lot of time in the summer researching new lights and making lists of our favorite holiday songs,” Motes said.

This Saturday, the 12 Nights of Lights will take place at the same time as the Paper Lantern Parade.

This community event, which is a true celebration of the holiday season, features one-of-a-kind commissioned paper lanterns in the shapes of iconic holiday symbols.

This free event takes place Dec. 14 and begins at 6 p.m. in the Village.

“It will seriously be an explosion of color and I can't wait,” Motes said.

Motes says adults can find just as much magic as a child in the event.

“This is such a great time of year at Baytowne with all of the holiday decorations and parties happening every night. And we just wanted to create something that enhanced what is already a beautiful evening.”
