Julian Pittman is an international silver medal winning juggler. He and his wife, Destin Middle School teacher Melody Gill-Pittman, will perform on the school stage Wednesday.

Destin 5th graders will get a chance to see their teacher in a whole new light when she and her husband perform a magic and juggling show at Destin Middle School Wednesday.

Teacher Melody Gill-Pittman's husband, Julian Pittman, has been performing since he was a young boy. He has toured the United States performing illusions and has even earned a silver medal in an international juggling competition.

About a year ago, Melody, a language arts teacher at Destin Middle joined Julian's act as his assistant. A life-long dancer, the position came naturally to Melody.

"She is one of the best assistants I've ever had," Julian Pittman told The Log.

Julian Pittman is also an educator. When not performing on stage, he is an associate chair in the biology department at Troy University. When Melody saw the need for classroom supplies because of the influx of 5th graders from Destin Elementary to Destin Middle this year, she decided she and Julian could put on a show to raise money for the supplies.

"We have a lot of new students and a lot of new teachers that we need to provide more supplies for," Gill-Pittman told The Log.

Pittman Magic and Juggling Productions will put on a show Wednesday, beginning at 3:45 p.m. on the Destin Middle School stage. The show will be entertaining for all ages and admission is only $5.

"This is a big illusion show. If you were to see a show like this is a professional venue, you'd probably pay anywhere from $25 to $200 for the ticket. So we are hoping that we get a lot of people since it is only $5," Gill-Pittman said.
