Small plane crashes en route to Destin; one killed

En route to Destin Airport, a small plane crashed Wednesday, leaving one dead and a Destin company in mourning.

The Bay County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Eli Larry Caison, 52, who grew up in Destin, was the pilot killed when a Beechcraft Bonanza G36 crashed at about 7:30 a.m. some 200 yards east of the Sandy Creek Air Park near Panama City. The plane and pilot worked for Shalimar- and Destin-based Grey Aviation Advisors and Solutions Inc.
