The 4th will be a Red, White & Baytowne kind of day
On the 4th of July, everyone's thoughts turn to fireworks. Where can you go and take the family to see the best fireworks and have fun while there?
Sandestin's Village of Baytowne Wharf has your answer.
For the 11th year in a row the Village will offer a free, safe, and family-friendly 4th of July experience for all.
The Red, White & Baytowne experience begins Friday, July 4 at 7 p.m. with live entertainment and activities for the kids all evening.
Mom, dad, and grandparents can enjoy the music of the hot all-female country band Mama's Blue Dress, which performs live in the Events Plaza beginning at 7 p.m., while the kids will get a kick out of the stilt walker, inflatables, face painting stations, children's crafts, and lawn games, beginning at 6 p.m.
When Mama's Blue Dress wraps up their performance at 9 p.m., stay put, lean back in your chair, and prepare to be mesmerized by the extraordinary light show in the sky over the lagoon, which begins at 9:15 p.m.
More than 500 shells are used in the fireworks finale alone, said events manager Julie Stuckey, and it offers the perfect ending to a day of celebrating our country's birth.
"We are so excited about the Red, White, and Baytowne Celebration here at the Village of Baytowne Wharf," said Stuckey. "Everyone is invited to come, park your car, and stay. It will be a great place for free entertainment for everyone, and it is open to the public."
