Police Blotter: Man accused of breaking door, ‘yanking’ woman off toilet

A 44-year-old Destin man is accused of breaking a door down and “yanking” a woman off the toilet.

A witness called Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputies about the fight on Dec. 6, according to the arrest report. She said William George Shea had broken down the bathroom door in a residence and gone into the bathroom.

She said he then grabbed a woman “by the arms and shoulders” and “yanked” her off the toilet, the report said. The witness said Shea then got into the bathtub and pushed the woman out of the bathroom by her “backside.”

The victim said initially that the fight was verbal, but later said Shea “always puts his hands on her,” according to the report.

Shea is charged with battery as a second or subsequent offense.

His next scheduled court date is Jan. 27.
