Local favorites Jones & Company will be entertaining the crowds on the stage next to World of Beer Friday.

Let the good times roll. It’s Mardi Gras season from New Orleans all the way to Destin Commons, so come out and join the celebration on Friday, Feb. 13, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Enjoy an evening full of Mardi Gras excitement and watch a non-stop line up of more than 30 floats and people marching up and down all the streets of Destin Commons between Bass Pro Shops, Belk and Uncle Bucks Fishbowl & Grill.

The parade begins and ends at Uncle Buck’s Fishbowl & Grill and World of Beer in the new expanded area of the center. Treasures, trinkets and beads will be plentiful throughout the celebration.

Lively entertainment will be provided by Jones & Company on the main stage next to World of Beer. Also, World of Beer will be hosting a party with more than 25 Albita beers on tap so guests can sample all their favorite New Orleans beers. In Center Plaza, DJ Mack will be on hand to liven up the evening, along with Pittman Magic, and a juggling duo of magicians.

Abrakadoodle and Build-A-Bear will be on hand for kids to create their very own festive Mardi Gras accessories and get their faces painted for the best looking masquerade masks this side of New Orleans.

This year’s Mardi Gras King will be Ryan Cox, the general manager of Bass Pro Shops and Uncle Buck’s Fishbowl and Grill. Cox has been a prominent face in Destin Commons over the years and will make the perfect King to preside over the event.

“This is our 5th  Mardi Gras parade and celebration and it keeps growing every year,” said Bob Perry, Destin Commons general manager. “Since the parade and all its creative floats and marching groups will move along all the streets throughout the Center, including our new expansion area, there will be plenty of room for attendees to find a close up, ring side view.”
