LETTER: A 'barrage of helicopters'

Staff Writer
The Destin Log

I have been coming to Destin for summer vacations since the mid seventies. I have accepted and embraced most of the growth through the years.

In 2015, I feel compelled to let my feelings be heard concerning the constant barrage of helicopters going up and down the beach. Not the military, Coast Guard, and sheriffs office that are there to protect us, but the tourist helicopters that are a noisy distraction to the whole beach experience.

I do not own a million dollar penthouse condo. But If I did, I would be extremely upset that this was permitted. I do believe in capitalism, but when it ruins the financial investment and peace of vacationers something must be done.

I am not sure how or why this business was permitted but the issue should be re-visited. Property owners should be consulted. Next year for vacation, my family will try Ft. Walton or Navarre Beach.

I can no longer visit and spend hard earned vacation dollars when the relaxation value for the money is not there.
