AJ's Untapped craft beer, cocktails and music festival will kick off it's inaugural event at 6 p.m., Aug. 29.

With school back in session and the crowds thinning out in Destin, it’s prime time for the locals to make their way back to the harbor and this year AJ’s Seafood and Oyster Bar has just the fix.

AJ’s Untapped is a new one-day craft beer, cocktail and music festival created with locals in mind.

“The idea is that we just left the summer season so it’s just an event to give the locals a chance to come down to the harbor and enjoy some music, craft beers, and cocktails,” said AJ’s Marketing Director Tracy McCraw. “Come lighten up on Saturday and have a good time.”

The evening festival will be held Aug. 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. with live music from Tyler Denning and Bri Wehner extended beyond the tasting event from 5-10 p.m.

Entry for those 21 years and older is $15 in advance and $20 at the door and includes a logoed glass perfect for beverage taste testing.

“We will have cocktail samplings of different mixes of mixed drinks featuring Old New Orleans Louisiana Rum, Cat Head Honeysuckle Vodka, and Rod and Rifle Bourbon,” said McCraw. “We will also have beer samples from Grayton Beer, Pensacola Bay Brewery, and Kona Brewing Company to name a few.”

The festival will take place mainly at AJ’s outdoor seating area beneath the Jumbotron stage that will be featuring the live band and of course, a pre-season football game.

“It’s something we started to do this fall to let people come out and sample local and regional craft beers and cocktails and try things they don’t normally get,” said McCraw. “We want to give our locals some events to look forward to in the fall on a yearly basis.”
