Kids of all ages will enjoy face painting, games and other activities at AJ's Fall Festival.

Okaloosa County students will be out of school this Friday and AJ’s Seafood & Oyster Bar has just the fix to kick off the fall season with fun for the whole family.

The Eighth Annual Kid’s Fall Festival and Wagon Parade will run from 2-4 p.m., Friday, Oct. 16 outside of AJ’s.

“We will have Home Depot kid’s workshop, Build-A-Bear will be there, there will be face-painting, pumpkin decorating, goodie bags and games,” said AJ’s Marketing Director Tracy McCraw. “We will be serving hot dogs and our own fun kid’s drink we lovingly call ‘Bug Juice.’ This year we are also adding Bricks & Boards, and they will be making building-block racecars and the kids get to race them on our racetrack.”

Start decorating your wagons early because after the fall festivities, the party continues with the annual nautically-themed wagon parade.

“We have added two awards for this year’s wagon parade and now have six awards,” said McCraw.

This year’s categories included the; WOW Award, the Crowd Pleaser, the Best Theme, the Most Creative, the Best Overall Participant and the Most Spirited.

“The wagon’s design has to have something to do with the water,” said McCraw. “Last year there was a creative team, The Duck Commanders and we’ve had pirates, seaplanes and submarines in the past.”

Registration for the wagon parade begins during the kid’s fall festival and wagons must be entered by 4:30 p.m. Oct. 16. The parade will begin at 5 p.m. as wagons parade through the HarborWalk Village. Prizes will be awarded immediately following the parade.

“Dress to match your wagon’s theme,” said McCraw. “Every child that enters a wagon gets a medal. It’s mainly about the fun and festivities.”
