It’s time once again to gather together for the 29th annual city of Destin Christmas Tree Lighting event. This Thursday, Dec. 3 at 6 p.m., the iconic holly tree beside the Destin Community Center will be lit with colorful lights for the holidays.

“It will be held outdoors, and refreshments will be provided,” said Deputy Recreation and Parks Director Lisa Firth of the event. “There will be a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus and the evenings entertainment will include the Noah’s Ark Bell Choir from Immanuel Anglican church, the Destin Elementary School Choir, local middle school singer Skylar Babin and the Emerald Coast Chorus.”

City Councilman Cyron Marler will lead the event as the master of ceremonies, Miss. Destin Alyssa Bettinger will also be present to greet the crowd and donations of canned food for Harvest House will be accepted at the event.
