It's Noon Year's Eve at Lulu's Dec. 31.

It’s a New Year’s party before bedtime for kids to let families end the year with a bang. In keeping with a popular annual tradition at LuLu’s in Gulf Shores, LuLu’s in Destin will host their first Noon Year’s Eve at 10 a.m. on New Year’s Eve day, Thursday, Dec. 31. Just for kids, it will be non-stop kid friendly fun for the whole family with excitement around every corner as LuLu’s celebrates and rings in the New Year.

Noon Year’s Eve is free and will feature a sandcastle building contest, arts & crafts, inflatables, face painting, and more on the sandy beach overlooking the Choctawhatchee Bay. There will be captivating music just for kids by Kathleen Rees & Pelican 212, a band from Nashville with seven talented siblings, ages 9 to 14. They will march around LuLu’s playing trumpets, trombones, drums, keyboard and singing.

As the festivities draw closer to noon, the event will reach its high point with a huge beach ball drop countdown. Hundreds of beach balls will be encased in netting over the kids’ heads and will be released at noon. Then kids can partake in their very own “fireworks” by stomping on bubble wrap throughout LuLu’s.

Lucy Buffett, founder and owner of LuLu’s, commented, “We just love being in Destin. Since we opened here last summer, LuLu’s has been very well received. Locals and tourists in Northwest Florida have realized what a family-oriented dining and entertainment destination we are. It’s all about the gumbo love!”

Creative chef, business woman, author and story teller, Lucy Buffett is more than a sibling of famous troubadour Jimmy, just as her business, LuLu’s, is more than a restaurant. As creator of the LuLu’s brand, Lucy has taken her initial dream, LuLu’s at Gulf Shores, to become a destination in itself serving some 750,000 customers a year. She opened her second location in Destin in the summer of 2015. From restaurants to cookbooks, to Bloody Mary Mix, seasonings and sauces, a children’s book and the newly-launched Crazy Sista Honey Ale beer, Lucy Buffett combines true Southern graciousness and authenticity with the nerve of a successful entrepreneur. Known as Crazy Sista for good reason, Lucy marches to the beat of her own drum; she plays nice, but usually by rules she has bent, broken or reinvented.

LuLu’s is located in Destin at the foot of the Mid-Bay Bridge, next to Legendary Marina. For more on the Noon Year’s Eve celebration, visit www.lulubuffett.com/destin/calendar/special-events or call (850) 710-5858.
