Power restored after morning outage

Tuesday morning update:

More than 2,000 Gulf Power customers were without service Monday morning after a power outage.

Rick DelaHaya, a media relations supervisor, told The Log the cause of the outage was still being determined as of press time.

The outage occurred before 8 a.m. and crews restored power by 9:20 a.m.

Power has been restored to more than 2,000 Gulf Power customers in Destin after an outage Monday morning, according to the company's Outage Map.

More than 2,000 Gulf Power customers are without power in Destin this morning.

Rick DelaHaya, a media relations supervisor for Gulf Power, tells The Log crews are working to address an "equipment problem at a substation." He said their first priority is to restore power, then they would go back and determine the cause of the outage.

Power is expected to be restored within 30 minutes, DelaHaya said.
