Destin Election: The results are in

With all precincts reporting, the Destin City Council has some new and familiar faces on the dais.
Results are still unofficial, according to the Okaloosa County Supervisor of Elections, but here's how things played out:
Mayor:
Scott Fischer: 2,328
Jim Wood: 1,937
City Council:
Jim Bagby: 1,372
Parker Destin: 2,588
Tuffy Dixon: 1,976
Teresa Hebert: 1,015
Cyron Marler: 1,384
Steven Menchel: 1,379
Mark Meyer: 400
Chatham Morgan: 2,047
Skip Overdier: 827
Vandy Vela-Schneidt: 538
Tom Weidenhamer: 1,167
Parker Destin, the son of former Destin City Councilman Dewey Destin, was the top vote recipient. Destin will join Dixon, incumbent, Morgan and Marler, incumbent, on the dais after Tuesday's election.
Given the five-vote difference between Marler and Menchel and the 12-vote difference between Bagby and Marler — seven-vote difference between Bagby and Menchel —, a recount may be in order, but that cannot be determined until after all provision ballots (more than 200), which haven't been counted, are reviewed by the canvassing board Friday, according to the Okaloosa County Supervisor of Elections Office.
