General Manager Blane Secrease, Franchise Owner Susie Robinson and Destin Manager Scott Korzeniowski are the friendly faces behind Workout Anytime in Destin.

Susie Robinson might not be your typical gym owner, but she is just as passionate as anyone when it comes to fitness.

Robinson, who recently moved to the Destin from Panama City Beach is the franchise owner of two Workout Anytime gyms located in Fort Walton Beach and Destin.

“I’ll be 71 in June,” she said. “One good thing about our club is that we have every age group. Anyone can come in and not be embarrassed and get healthier.”

Robinson first discovered Workout Anytime in Panama City and said she fell in love with how good nutrition and daily exercise made her feel.

“I loved it,” she said. “I lost weight and started eating healthier. I didn’t get here overnight!”

When asked what differentiates her gym from the others, Robinson said it’s all about the price and the perks.

“We are $15 month to month with no contract and we are available 24/7,” she said.

“We have elite equipment, great personal trainers, great staff and a fun environment,” added General Manager Blane Secrease.

Robinson said that one aspect that originally drew her to Workout Anytime was the availability of personal trainers and nutritionists to premium members.

“We have four trainers in Destin all qualified in fitness and the nutrition side of it,” she said. “We also do small group training three times a week in a boot camp style class.”

Another feature that sets Workout Anytime apart from other gyms is its dedication to military and public service members.

“I think the biggest thing is that I like to help the military, police, fire fighters and EMTs,” said Robinson. “I think I’m the only one with all the military branch flags hanging in each of my locations.”

Robinson said her special discount to military and public service members involves a $1 enroll-ment fee as opposed to the going rate of $49 right now.

Secrease, a military veteran himself, said another way the gym supports military members is through a month-long event in November.

“It’s called Lift for the 22 and it’s purpose is to bring awareness to veterans who commit suicide,” he said. “We team up with the non-profit organization and each club gives away 22 gym memberships to veterans.”

The idea is to save veterans’ lives by helping them remain active and fit in a positive environment, Secrease said.

When it comes to equipment, Workout Anytime has everyone covered, from the novice gym member to the elite athlete.

“Everything is Matrix brand and user friendly,” he said. “All ages can use any piece of equipment. If you had no idea and had never been to the gym, you could come in here and get a good workout.”

The gym features a cardio section, weight training section, and rubber floored free-weight and plate-loaded areas. They also have two stand-up tanning beds and a Hydro-Massage room.

Workout Anytime is located at 981 U.S. Highway 98, Suite 8, next to Winn Dixie in the 98 Palms Plaza in Destin.
