Future 300-unit hotel in the works for Destin

Another “Sold” sign was spotted this week at 1035 East Highway 98 between the Days Inn and Chick-Fil-A.

The 9.5-acre lot was sold by Bobby Parish of Re-Max Southern Realty and listed by Mike Gaskill of Keller Wil-liams Realty.

“A gentlemen from China bought the property,” said Parrish.

Gaskill, who has been working with the buyer for several months, said the buyer has an aggressive plan for de-velopment of the property.

“It will be a possible future 100-unit hotel, with 200-units of apartments and condos and some commercial ven-ues,” he said. “We are getting ready to put it all together.”

The timeline to break ground on the project is tentatively set for late fall or early next year.

“We are not going to be breaking ground on this in the real near future, it’s probably going to be around Octo-ber before we get anything done on it,” said Gaskill.
