Destin Commons sees two new stores opening, one closing
The Destin Commons is once again seeing new stores make their debut.
Lush Cosmetics, a cult favorite cosmetics and body care brand, will appear at the Destin Commons in spring of 2017. The UK-based brand opened its first store in the United States in 2003 and currently boasts 210 shops in North America.
Lush offers handmade beauty and body products, and is perhaps best known for their “bath bombs,” fizzy balls of soap that can be dropped in warm baths and explode into foamy bubbles.
Another store making their debut at the commons this coming spring is Teavana, which bills itself as a “specialty tea and tea accessory retailer.” The Atlanta, GA-based company is owned by Starbucks, and promises blends, flavors, aromas and products from all over the world.
“We are very excited to bring Lush and Teavana to our community, their closest stores are currently four-plus hours away and our shoppers have expressed a great interest in having them at Destin Commons,” said Heather Ruiz, marketing manager for the Destin Commons. “For Destin Commons to continue bringing first to market concepts to our area is a big win for everyone.”
In addition to new openings, Destin Commons is also seeing one longtime store closing its doors. Luxe Apothetique, a store that has been at the Destin Commons for more than seven years, shut its doors last week.
The women's boutique sold clothing, accessories, beauty products and home items.
Ruiz said the store’s contract came to an end this year, and they opted not to renew it. The company wanted to focus on its flagship store in Austin, Texas.
