Mary’s Kitchen and the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office are asking for help to find a man who stole a trailer with a smoker attached from the restaurant’s newest location in Destin on Sunday.

The suspect backed up a light brown Chevy pickup truck about 5:30 p.m. Sunday, hooked up the new smoker to the trailer hitch and drove off. The smoker is worth up $2,000, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office said the case is under investigation and grand theft charges are pending.

Mary’s Kitchen owner Joe Ezell posted about the robbery on Facebook, including a photo from the surveillance footage of the suspect, and said three people have called to possibly identified the suspect.

“We have turned over all of the information we gathered to the Sheriff’s Office,” he said.

Ezell said he is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect. People should call 850-842-4435.

“I’m pretty sure the Sheriff’s Office will apprehend him and hopefully I will get my smoker back,” he said. “We really appreciate any information and help from the public.”

The Sheriff's Office asked anyone who knows of the suspect’s whereabouts to call Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers at 850-863-TIPS and remain anonymous. A reward will also be offered by the Sheriff’s Office.
