Holiday decorations don't disappoint in Destin

The city of Destin recently announced the winners of this year’s Holiday Outdoor Decorating Contest.

The contest proved to be difficult to judge as many Destin homes, businesses and organizations did a fantastic job showing their holiday spirit through decorations. The city received multiple phone calls and emails pointing out locations that had done an outstanding job of decorating their property.

This information was given to the judges who canvassed Destin with the challenging task of picking the best-of-the-best. The winners will be recognized by the mayor and council at the Jan. 2 council meeting. Each winner will receive a plaque commemorating the contest.

This year’s judges were Evan Wright, Sheri Bethea, Pat Markey, Joshua Anderson, Melissa Burch and Susan Jones.

Best Business - Hog's Breath Saloon, 541 U.S. Highway 98

Best Organization - HarborWalk Village, 10 Harbor Boulevard

Honorable Mention for Best Organization - Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 307 Beach Drive

Best of Holiday - Jim and Barbara Telford, 19 Indian Bayou Drive

Honorable Mention for Best of Holiday - Teresa Hebert, 716 Main Street

Best on the Harbor - The Boat House, 288 Harbor Boulevard

Best Condominium - Holiday Isle Towers, 770 Gulf Shore Drive
