Tornado watch in effect for Santa Rosa, Okaloosa until 4 p.m.
Santa Rosa and Okaloosa counties are under a tornado watch until 4 p.m. Saturday.
The National Weather Service issued the tornado watch Saturday morning for the western part of the Florida Panhandle, plus a large area of Alabama and Mississippi.
An approaching cold front is expected to produce heavy rain and possibly high winds as it transits the area on Saturday, prompting a host of other warnings.
They include a wind advisory, which is in effect until 6 p.m. Saturday, a coastal flood advisory until 6 p.m. Saturday, a high surf warning and a rip current risk statement.
