In their first outing of the season, the Destin Middle School Marlins chalked up a victory on the greens against the Ruckel Rams in girls golf action at Indian Bayou Golf and Country Club in Destin.

The Lady Marlins, who posted a 124 to the Rams 156, were led by Camryn Lux with a 27. Running a close second was Juliana Hock at 29 and Piper Lindsley came in third at 31. Katrina Miille scored a 40 for the Marlins while Victoria Torres checked in with 42.

“We have a great group of girls returning from last year’s team with a lot of experience so I think we’ll have a good year,” said Destin golf coach Patricia Malpass.

“Our match with Ruckel was a good start so we’ll build on that and keep working and improving,” she said.

Up next for the Marlins is a match on March 26 against Davidson.
