Coast Guard, OCSO search for missing kayaker known to paddle around Destin, Crab Island
The search continues for a missing kayaker who has not been seen since leaving his Gulf Shore Drive condo in Destin about 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
The U.S. Coast Guard, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office and others have been searching local waters and beaches for 61-year-old David Schink of Minnesota who was known to kayak around Destin Harbor, Crab Island and in the Gulf of Mexico, according to an OCSO press release.

He departed Norriego Point in a blue and green kayak about 2:30 p.m. Saturday and did not return when expected. He was expected to return to the Poolside Villas about sunset.
A family member contacted authorities about 6:30 p.m. Saturday when Schink had not returned by his usual time.
Investigators said he did not take his phone with him.
Schink is 6 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs about 240 pounds. His hair is cut in a "buzz style."
