Monday morning crash in Florosa kills Fort Walton Beach man, seriously injures woman

A 28-year-old Fort Walton Beach man has died following a traffic crash in Florosa on Monday morning.

The man was driving a sedan westbound on U.S. Highway 98 near the Macy Lane intersection when he lost control of the car, according to a press release from Florida Highway Patrol.

The vehicle began rotating into the grass median and into the eastbound lanes.

A van, driven by a 39-year-old woman from Fort Walton Beach, was traveling in the eastbound lanes and struck the right side of the out-of-control sedan, FHP said.

The woman suffered serious injuries. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
