FHP: Fort Walton Beach pedestrian walking in roadway killed in Okaloosa Island hit-and-run
The Florida Highway Patrol is seeking a suspect involved in a fatal Sunday morning hit-and-run on Okaloosa Island.
About 3:10 a.m., a 39-year-old Fort Walton Beach man was walking in the roadway of the westbound outside lane of U.S. Highway 98 in the Gulf Islands National Seashore on Okaloosa Island, according to an FHP news release.

A vehicle traveling west on U.S. 98 struck the pedestrian, dragging him into the middle of the westbound lanes. The vehicle then continued west into Fort Walton Beach.
No information regarding the vehicle is available at this time. The vehicle is believed to have damage to the front end, possibly the bumper, according to the FHP.
