NWFS Foundation seeks distinguished alumni
The Northwest Florida State College Foundation is calling for nominations for its 2016 Alumni Awards and needs your participation. This is a wonderful opportunity to honor a deserving alumnus of Okaloosa-Walton Junior College, Okaloosa-Walton Community College, Okaloosa-Walton College or NWF State College.
There are four categories of awards for NWFS College alumnus:
Distinguished Alumni Award — A true success story in a state or national arena.
Against The Odds Award — Has achieved success despite adversity.
Rising Star Award — Under 40 years of age and a success story with potential for achievement in a state or national arena.
Hometown Hero —Has achieved success within the college’s district and demonstrated notable community involvement.
All Alumni Award recipients will be recognized Aug. 26, 2016, at the NWFS College Foundation Annual Dinner.

Okaloosa Arts Alliance receives grant
The Okaloosa Arts Alliance (OAA) has received a $6000 grant from the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs and the Florida Council on Arts and Culture. The Okaloosa Arts Alliance (OAA) is the officially designated non-profit arts agency for Okaloosa County with the mission of supporting and promoting art and culture in Okaloosa County.
The Okaloosa Arts Alliance enhances the cultural environment of its community, and promotes, coordinates, and nurtures high quality arts and cultural resources that enrich the lives of residents and visitors. The OAA is supported in part by the Florida Department of State and from Arts auto license tag revenues, but could not exist without its members and community support.
