Wanda Pitts, president of the Destin Kiwanis, along with the membership presented annual donation checks to 10 local community charities including Children In Crisis, Children’s Volunteer Health Network, Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center, Emerald Coast Science Center, Fisher House, Florida Sheriffs’ Youth Ranch, Harvest House, Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation, Okaloosa Walton Readers and Shelter House.

The funds were donated to help the charities carryout their important missions and to strengthen the community.

“We have been blessed with great support from the community to build the Children’s Neighborhood," said Ken Hair, president/CEO Children In Crisis. "However, it’s a struggle to find the necessary funding to feed and clothe the kids and sustain operations into the future. Support from the Destin Kiwanis is a tremendous help in our efforts to provide a safe, loving home to the abused, neglected and abandoned children.”
