Friends of the Destin Library to host Women’s Literature Circle Series (Update)

The Friends Guild of the Destin Library will host an upcoming four-week Women’s Literature Circle with Dr. Patricia Moran.

Meeting dates for the series are Feb. 2, 9. 16, and 23 beginning at 1 p.m. at the Destin Library. The program is free and open to the public.

The 4-week series will focus on Southern Women Writers. Traditional authors will include Alice Walker, Zora Neale Hurston, Carson McCullers and Flannery O’Connor.

Contemporary local authors including Vicki Hinze of Niceville and Fort Walton Beach author Joyce Holland will also be discussed.

Dr. Moran is a local resident but is a Nebraska native. She has been a military wife, a long-time member of the American Association of University Women, has served in AmeriCorps and has taught for Troy State University, Florida State University and St. Leo University. In addition, she has taught in public schools K-12 in the states of Mississippi, Texas and Florida. Dr. Moran received her Ph.D. from Florida State University.
