Some of the upcoming activities for snowbirds and musical events this winter for the visitors and locals include the following:
Join the Walton County Snowbirds and other organizations in the "Over 50's League" from 8-10 a.m. Mondays starting Jan. 4 at The Destin Life Center at the Destin United Methodist Church on Beach Street.
The games are "pick-up," played half court. Bring a white and dark shirt as no Shirts-and-Skins are allowed. There is no charge although a collection will be taken during the season to benefit the church. Additional play days may be added depending upon player interest. Play will continue through March and maybe into April, again depending upon player interest and availability. Contact Paul Smithers at 419-265-0203, email@example.com or Chris Gray at 603-778-9211, firstname.lastname@example.org to register ... or just show up at one of the sessions.
If playing bridge is your game, join the other snowbirds at 7 p.m. beginning Jan. 5 at Gulf Terrace Condos in Destin. Lessons will be offered to beginners free of charge. Call 850-650-9808 for more information.
