3 THINGS TO DO This week

With the snowbirds here for the winter, there are many activities they can take part in, some especially for them.

1. Fish Fry

Cajun Ray's Fish Fry, with all the trimmings, plus karaoke with Dan Woods, will be held from 2-5 p.m. Jan. 16 at American Legion Post 296 on Main Street in Destin. All proceeds go to the Clifford Sims State Veterans Nursing Home in Panama City. Open to the public.

2. Bowling

Hurricane Lanes at U.S. 98 and Matthew Boulevard in Destin will have three games of bowling Fridays at 11:30 a.m. with a year-end pizza party. Cost is $9/week. Arrive with your four person team or as an individual/couple and you will be placed on a team. Call 218-230-3212.

3. Music for snowbirds

Shake off the chills of winter with free live music on HarborWalk Village’s main stage with Shoreline Village Church Band from 2-4 p.m. Jan. 17. Also, The Market Shops at the entrance to Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort presents the free music with the David Seering Trio from 1-3 p.m. Jan. 17 on the lawn. Bring chairs and blankets.
