Southern Fried Literature presentation

The Friends Guild of the Destin Library will host a literary presentation entitled Southern Fried Literature at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, at the Destin Library. Rebecca “Becky” Williams will lead the discussion and presentation on this date. The program is free and open to the public.

Why are the works of Southern writers consistently best sellers and at the top of all-time books lists? What are the secret ingredients and spices they add to their storytelling? Join us for a look at Southern Fried Literature where we will sample some of the best in Southern literature and decide what ingredients make it Southern.

Williams is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a BA and MA in English, speech and drama. She has an extensive professional experience and has published both fiction and nonfiction in newspapers and magazines and has also written two plays. She and her husband retired to Destin six years ago. She is now actively involved with a number of local organizations including the Friends Guild of the Destin Library and Writers In Sandals.
