Destin History & Fishing Museum's Annual Gumbo Contest

The Destin History & Fishing Museum announces their Annual Gumbo Contest and Silent Auction Fundraiser. The event will take place Saturday, Jan. 30, at the Destin Community Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Area restaurants and individuals compete for the title of the best gumbo on the panhandle. The event will include live music by a local band and a silent auction of sixty plus packages including artwork, vacation stays, jewelry, and restaurant gift certificates, boating and fishing trips, services, golf, recreational activities and much more.
Gumbo contestants are asked to supply 2 to 3 gallons or more of their gumbo to be judged. Guests judge for People's Choice while we have panels judge the Individual & Restaurant categories. In addition to the guests having the opportunity to taste the area's finest gumbo they will have the opportunity to bid on items in our silent auction.
Advanced tickets are available now at the Museum for $12 per adult. Admission will be $15 at the door the day of the event.
For more information concerning entering your gumbo in the contest, donating an item for the silent auction or coming to enjoy the event contact the Museum at 850-837-6611 or email kathydestinhistory@gmail.com.
