New online learning site debuts at Destin Library

Special to The Log

The Destin Library has a new online learning resource for patrons with a valid Destin Library card.

Lynda.com (www.lynda.com) is a website with more than 3,000 courses and more than 130,000 videos from web design, edu-cation and media production to business. Destin Library cardholders have access to all of Lynda’s content for free.

The idea, according to library, is to give patrons another way to keep learning when the libraries are closed or when they cannot make a visit.

Patrons can get to Lynda.com by logging in through the library’s website with their library card and pin number. After creating an account – which requires a name and email address – users are set to go. They can watch videos, create play-lists, download course files and bookmark pages at the library. Access to Lynda.com can be achieved at the library, or on your home computer.

To get free Lynda.com access as a Destin Library cardholder, visit www.lynda.com/portal/sip?org=library.cityofdestin.com.
