Program a big hit at Destin Library

Special to the Log

Over 85 children and parents attended the environmental awareness program REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE at the Destin Library on April 26 that focused on the importance of caring for our environment. The program, a follow up to the national Earth Day celebration on April 22, featured a sing-along, brochures, books and resources available at the library and a Nonie’s Ark Animal Encounters’ edutainment presentation that was funded by the Okaloosa County Recycling Center.

“This was a great opportunity for children and their parents to learn about the benefits of reducing, reusing and recycling and the impact it has on our community, our world and the many animals that share the place we call home,” said Will Rogers, reference and youth services librarian at the Destin Library.
