Winter 2016 graduates at University of Alabama
The University of Alabama awarded some 2,270 degrees during winter commencement Saturday, Dec. 10. With this graduating class, UA will have awarded more than 257,000 degrees since its founding in 1831 as the state's first public university.
Candidates for degrees from UA include William Balchunas and Jon Vice, both of Miramar Beach, bachelor's degrees.

Troy University announces Fall/Term 2 graduates
Troy University recently recognized students who completed the requirements for graduation during the fall semester and Term 2 of the 2016/2017 academic year.
Local residents who graduated include Barrett Perry of Destin, bachelor of science; Taylor Walters of Miramar Beach, bachelor of science in nursing; and Hannah Rodriguez of Destin, bachelor of science.
