SPECIAL TO THE LOG

The Arc of the Emerald Coast is officially underway for their new group home facility located on their property at Jet Court in Fort Walton Beach. The renovations are being made available through a Florida Housing Corporation grant that The Arc of the Emerald Coast has won. The new group home includes renovating an older 1970's home that was not completely accessible for their clients who are disabled. This will increase the size from four bedrooms to six bedrooms and also include all green building features.

The contract on the house was awarded to J. Tashik Construction Corporation. The old house was demolished in late September and construction has officially started. One of the board members of the Arc, Tony Mallini, is spearheading the project on behalf of The Arc of the Emerald Coast. The renovation is commitment to The Arc of the Emerald Coast's mission, "Create a path from disability to capability," as well as the dedication of our community to be in the service of others.
