Boys and Girls Clubs announces technology partnership
Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast recently announced a new computer recycling program partnership with CRC Data Technologies in Destin.
The program will help provide recycled computers to local clubs in need to support STEM programs that impact more than 3,200 club members. CRC Data Technologies will securely erase the drives and recondition the computers for the use of local youth through National Boys & Girls Clubs Technology Programming.
This will help the local youth participate in programs such as:
Netsmartz – Geared toward middle school students in sixth through eighth grade and high school students in ninth through 12th grade, the program offers interactive workshops that provide age-appropriate resources to help teach children how to be safer on- and offline.
My.Future.net – Focuses fourth through seventh grade students on Essentials Technology Programs and coding programs. Essentials Technology Program provides engaging and exciting project experiences for all ability levels with a foundation of technology skills that explore three central themes: building, exploring and communicating. Coding programs extend club members knowledge on how to build and create in web-based or digital environments.
Because of the high demand for technology, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast provides programming with fun and engaging project-based teaching experiences to help youth understand their media world, identify and develop digital interests and earn certifications as they make progress.
The objective of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast partnership with CRC Date Technologies is to involve the local community and provide our youth with computers that will help educate them on technology and provide solid grounding in digital literacy for today and the future.
Computer donation requirements are:

• Must have a valid license for Mac or Windows
