Neuter Commuter for dogs, cats starts in March

Special to The Sun

Dog-Harmony provides convenient, low-cost spay/neuter surgeries for dogs and cats the first Thursday of each month beginning in March.

Owners drop off pets at Dog-Harmony, 3906 U. S. 98, Unit 34 in Santa Rosa Beach. Neuter Commuter takes animals to a Panama City clinic for surgeries and returns them. Drop-off is at 5:30 a.m. Pickup times are arranged. Appointments must be made at least one week in advance.

Dog-Harmony transports the animals for free. Dog surgery costs are $60 for 49 pounds or less, $80 for 50 to 99 pounds, and $100 for more than 100 pounds. Cat surgery costs are $35 for males, $45 for females.

“The relationship between Dog-Harmony and Operation Spay Bay allows our community to spay or neuter their pet in a convenient and low-cost manner,” said Dog-Harmony founder Nancy Bown. “With this partnership, we hope to lessen the unwanted pet population in south Walton County and surrounding areas.”
