October is here, and although the weather is still not feeling like fall in Destin, these Halloween events might just help to get you in a spooky mood. went on a hunt for Halloween haunts, and here is what we found.

A.J.’s Kid’s Fall Fest:

Okaloosa County public schools will be out of school Monday, October 15, so why not take the kids to the Destin Harbor to enjoy the free Kid’s Fall Fest with A.J.’s Seafood & Oyster Bar and the Destin Fishing Rodeo? Kids can explore the Destin Fishing Rodeo, take part in activities such as face painting, fall arts and crafts, and pumpkin decorating. For more information visit

BooLu’s at LuLu’s:

Get ready for a one-of-a-kind celebration with BooLu’s at LuLu’s in Destin on Saturday, October 27 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. BooLu’s is a free family event and will include Halloween festivities such as pumpkin decorating, crafts, inflatable play area, and live music. Top that off with a full parking lot of trunk-or-treat and a kid’s costume contest. For more information visit

Pumpkin Palooza at HarborWalk Village:

HarborWalk Village is the place to be this Halloween season with their two-day Pumpkin Palooza everyone will find their spooky fun. Beginning on Saturday, Oct.27 6-9 p.m. adults can enjoy a Monster Mash Pub Crawl, a concert by Tyler Livingston Band, fireworks and an adult costume contest. As for the kids, enjoy trick-or-treating and a costume contest Sunday, Oct. 28 at 2 p.m. and at 3:15 p.m. bring your pooch and take part in the pet costume contest. For more information visit

Boo at the Zoo:

Want to celebrate Halloween with real life animals? Look no further that the Gulf Breeze Zoo and their upcoming Boo at the Zoo. Enjoy six days in October with a trick-or-treat trail, bounce houses, face painting, balloon animals and of course the friendly zoo animals themselves. Boo at the Zoo runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on October 13-14, 20-21 and 27-28. For more information visit

Destin Commons Halloween Haunt:

Frightful fun for the family can be found at the Destin Commons during their Halloween Haunt on Friday, October 26 from 6-8 p.m. This year kids can take part in Halloween-themed crafts, face painting, photo booth, trick-or-treating and of course a costume contest. For more information visit


Take the kids to see how even marine animals can play trick-or-treat at the Gulfarium's event Splash or Treat at the Gulfscarium on October 27. Kids ages 3-12 can enjoy free admission, all they have to do is come dressed in a costume. While at the Gulfarium check out the trick-or-treat specials, bounce-houses, scavenger hunt and Halloween fun from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. For more information visit

Arnett’s Pumpkin Festival:

Head to Arnett’s Gulfside Farm and Stables in October and enjoy welcoming fall to Miramar Beach with an annual pumpkin festival. The farm will be open October 20, 21, 27 and 28 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturdays and 12-4 p.m. Sundays with family events such as hayrides, pumpkin patches other family fun activities. Camp Helen Fall Festival:

Camp Helen State Park in Panama City Beach will transform to a pumpkin wonderland on Saturday, October 6 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bring the whole family to enjoy music, games and food and of course pick out a pumpkin from the patch. Eden Gardens Fall Films:

Bring your blankets, lawn chairs and coolers and get ready to watch a spooky movie under the live oaks at Eden Gardens State Park. All films are family-friendly and begin at 6:30 p.m. Concessions such as popcorn, candy, soda, water and beer are available by donation. For more information visit

Tricks & Treasures at The Boardwalk:

On Halloween day, Oct. 31, head to The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island for a trick-or-treat party like no other. Children of all ages can enjoy trick-or-treating in The Boardwalk merchants, play carnival games and putt-putt golf, check out a treasure map game, take part in a costume contest, watch Transylvania on the beach and kids even eat free at AL's Beach Club and Burger Bar!
