Destin Commons presented a $3,250 donation to Children in Crisis from funds generated through their “Coins for a Cause” program and the Smoke on the Coast event.

CIC will use the donation to feed, clothe, care and give a home to more than 100 children that will live at the CIC Neighborhood this year.

“We now have seven homes for at-risk foster children at the CIC Neighborhood and sustaining operations is our biggest challenge," said Ken Hair, president/CEO of CIC. “The support from the Destin Commons Coins for a Cause program and Smoke on the Coast event has helped us give a home to more than 850 children since opening our first home in 2008.”

Children in Crisis Inc. is a non-profit, 501,(c)(3) charity of caring people from the community. The CIC Children’s Neighborhood gives a home to the abused, neglected and abandoned children from Northwest Florida. The Children’s Neighborhood has an emergency shelter home, five family foster homes, and a teen home. To learn more about CIC, call 850-864-4242 or childrenincrisisfl.org.
